Our season now begins 30th September 2017

The Southport Lecture Society's new season commences on Saturday 30th September 2017 with a talk by our new Chairperson, John Robottom entitled "How, why and of what are artworks made", John has studied art and many of his family are professional Artists, this should be an interesting talk with lots of great imagery.

In the meantime though the Southport University Extension Society are having some talks at the Southport Quaker Meeting House on Court Road Southport, on saturdays at 7.30pm, the door opens from 7pm. The Southport Lecture Society has a full and varied programme of fortnightly talks through the Autumn and Spring at the Friends Meeting House, Court Road, Southport PR9 9ER.

All are welcome to join us in an informal meeting for an hour or so starting 7.30 pm, (the door is open from 7.00 pm), with the aim to finish no later than 9.00 pm.

For £1.50 admission you will get anything but a lecture! You will get a cup of tea and a biscuit, and to listen to a speaker with a keen interest in their subject plus the opportunity for questions and discussion.

As agreed at our AGM on 25th April 2015 there is no annual membership charge this season, and if you attend more than 3 meetings, you will automatically become a Member of the Southport Lecture Society.
